Questions
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to give my name or contact details to see quotes?
No. Just six pieces of information are required: your gender, date of birth, general health status, tobacco use, desired coverage amount and preferred term. These six details are sufficient for carriers to provide rate quotes. Your name, address and full health history are only requested if you decide to apply.
Are the monthly prices shown the price I will pay?
These prices reflect what each carrier quotes for the health class you selected. After underwriting, the carrier may confirm, improve or change that class, and the final premium is determined at that time. Quotes shown here are for information purposes and are not an offer of insurance or a guarantee of any rate.
What happens when I click Apply?
Once you select a carrier and click Apply, your quoted information is used to prefill a secure application on the carriers' platform. The application continues through their underwriting process. You can pause and return later to continue, and signatures are handled electronically. Susman Insurance Agency, a licensed California agency (License 0B75129), processes your application.
Will I need a medical exam?
Whether you need an exam depends on the specific carrier, coverage amount and your answers. Many carriers now offer accelerated underwriting for eligible applicants, which can provide a decision without an exam. Each quote specifies whether an exam is required, possibly required, or not required for that particular product.
Is a longer term better?
The right term depends on your situation. Choose a term that covers the years when your dependents would struggle if you weren't there—a mortgage that needs to be paid, children who need support through high school, or other obligations. Longer terms lock in your rate for more years but cost more per month. The tool lets you compare 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30-year terms side by side.
Does this site sell my information?
No. We do not sell or share personal information, do not use advertising trackers, and do not engage in third-party data sharing. The quote tool collects minimal data, our measurement is completely cookieless, and we do not maintain records of submissions.
